Llandegfedd is back
When it was decided to develop a new lodge and café area, the fishery was closed for two seasons while work was carried out. And when it reopened in the spring of 2017 we all had big expectations.
Prior to the closure the fishing had been fantastic, with a good head of fish and consistent sport. However, the stock that had taken several years to build up had been decimated during the closure and on reopening, the fishing was poor.
With news that the fishery would no longer be stocked and turned over to a wilderness fishery for 2018, the local clubs got together with Welsh Water and we’ve now formulated a plan to bring Llandegfedd back to its best. With regular stocking and improved facilities, we are all convinced it will be a huge success going forward.
I for one will be supporting my local water once again this season – it really is a case of use it or lose it!
