Situated in the picturesque village of Wincle, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and fed by the River Dane, the spring-fed lake is stocked with fish reared on-site – brown, rainbow, blue and golden trout. A heated fisherman's hut offers kitchen facilities including a microwave, toaster and kettle. There is also a picnic/barbecue area and a play area. A Junior Pond, meanwhile, is designed for all the family and caters for children from the age of two years old (must be supervised by an adult). Ideal for beginners aged six to 16 in particular, the pond is stocked with fish of varying size and fishing is with traditional canes and a variety of baits. The Junior Pond is ideal for birthday parties or just children with an hour or two to while away. Casting and fishing tuition is available for anglers of all abilities, with special beginners’ sessions and tuition for the more experienced angler, teaching them how to read the water and insect life, what flies to use and how to fish them, among other essential skills. Danebridge also offers fly-fishing and country sport holidays and corporate events for up to 10 people.
