Sit­u­ated in the pic­turesque vil­lage of Win­cle, on the edge of the Peak Dis­trict Na­tional Park, and fed by the River Dane, the spring-fed lake is stocked with fish reared on-site – brown, rain­bow, blue and golden trout. A heated fish­er­man's hut of­fers kitchen fa­cil­i­ties in­clud­ing a mi­crowave, toaster and ket­tle. There is also a pic­nic/bar­be­cue area and a play area. A Ju­nior Pond, mean­while, is de­signed for all the fam­ily and caters for chil­dren from the age of two years old (must be su­per­vised by an adult). Ideal for beginners aged six to 16 in par­tic­u­lar, the pond is stocked with fish of vary­ing size and fish­ing is with tra­di­tional canes and a va­ri­ety of baits. The Ju­nior Pond is ideal for birth­day par­ties or just chil­dren with an hour or two to while away. Cast­ing and fish­ing tu­ition is avail­able for an­glers of all abil­i­ties, with spe­cial beginners’ ses­sions and tu­ition for the more ex­pe­ri­enced an­gler, teach­ing them how to read the wa­ter and in­sect life, what flies to use and how to fish them, among other es­sen­tial skills. Dane­bridge also of­fers fly-fish­ing and coun­try sport hol­i­days and cor­po­rate events for up to 10 peo­ple.
