Trout Fisherman (UK) - - Advice -

In addition to a slightly shorter leader, feathering your fly line (gently gripping it) as the final cast concludes often sees the leader kick over positively due to increased resistance. This ploy is all about timing and once you master it, it’s a great method for straightening a leader, not only where the air is thick, but when tackling a headwind too! It’s vital to practise this outside of actual fishing though, as bad timing now will hinder rather than help you.
