REIGNING Junior Troutmasters champion, Harrison Douds, made it a summer double when he became English Youth Loch Style National Champion at Draycote. Just seven weeks after lifting the Junior Troutmasters crown at Northumberland’s Thrunton Long Crag, the 14-year-old from Bedlington, Northumberland saw off 20 other anglers in the 11-16 age bracket at the famous Warwickshire reservoir, in the Greys-sponsored Loch Style event, in early September. With places in the England Youth Fly Fishing squad for 2019 up for grabs, the match was fished to full catch measure and release and featured two sessions, a new format for the event. Anglers scored 1 to 21 points in each session with cumulative length determining session points and at the end of the match their session scores were combined to give each angler an overall match result.
