Scotland win gold
THE 2018 Autumn International, held at Llyn Brenig saw Scotland put in a stellar performance to win gold, their first gold since 2016 which was also in Wales on Llandegfedd Reservoir. They caught 79 fish for 164lb 15oz, nine fish and 19lb 7oz ahead of host nation Wales. Team England finished third landing 65 fish for 134lb 13oz leaving Ireland in fourth place with 51 fish for 107lb 10oz. In addition to team gold, Scotland’s Grant Osler took the Brown Bowl with 11 fish, while teammate Stuart McLean’s nine fish gave him second place. England’s Tom Davis finished third, also with nine, while Scotland’s Ronnie Gilbert’s eight fish gave him fourth. Terry Llewelyn from Wales won the H. Emyr Lewis Trophy catching the heaviest fish of the match. The Spring International will be held at Grafham on Friday May 10.
