Huge success for Tiny Lives
HATS off to all anglers who helped the organisers of a recent charity event beat their donations target by 2000 per cent! Angling to Save Tiny Lives took place in September at Northumberland’s Chatton and Thrunton Long Crag Fisheries. Aiming to raise money for the Tiny Lives Trust charity, which supports premature and sick babies, the event organisers, Alec Harvey and Carl Nixon, saw their initial target of £500 passed within two hours of the event being launched. The sum of £4,000 was raised over the two-day event but even that was dwarfed by the final sum of £11,097.50, a cheque for which Alec and Carl are pictured presenting to Nurse Karen at the Neonatal Unit of Newcastle upon Tyne’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.
