Toothy Critter leader

Trout Fisherman (UK) - - Advice Squad -

Q When fly-fishing for pike, do I just attach my RIO Toothy Critter leader to the fly line, or should I have a length of leader in between? Gary Morgan

ROB EDMUNDS REPLIES: Your Toothy Critter leader is essentially a bite-proof tapered leader with a link at one end for changing flies. You don't need to add any additional leader material and you simply connect it directly to the end of your fly-line. I believe the leaders are about eight-foot in length which is plenty long enough for pike and allows large flies to be turned over relatively easily.
