DON’T BE AFRAID TO RETRACE YOUR STEPS

Trout Fisherman (UK) - - Advice -

For whatever reason, sometimes a certain length of river appears more productive. It might be because of slightly slacker water on the inside of a bend during heavy flows. Wherever you discover a concentration of fish, don’t be afraid to put your flies through the same spot twice, or even three times. Do however, make a point of resting the area after each pass. What I usually do is trundle my flies through an area then move to another pool before returning an hour later.
