THIS hanked tinsel-like material has an attractive ‘barred’ appearance with black bars over various base colours. Although the finish of this slightly stretchy material is shiny it’s not too ‘blingy’ and produces just enough flash on the retrieve to grab the fish’s attention. The strands of Voodoo Fibres are 12-13 inches long and the most effective way of showing off the barring to its best effect is in longer lengths, whether in a tail or as a veil over a wing. This way you also get the maximum enticing movement from the fibres as well. Only a few strands are needed to add that all-important ‘flash’ attraction to the fly. It can also be tied in along the side of a fry pattern to suggest a tell-tale lateral line. It is available in seven colours: barred blue (almost purple), barred chartreuse, barred hot orange, barred olive, barred red, barred tan and finally barred white which I think is the most striking in terms of colour contrast.
