The Guyzance Fish­ery on the Coquet in Northum­ber­land is one of the many fea­tures of the sale of Guyzance Hall, a spec­tac­u­lar es­tate in Northum­ber­land, eight miles from Al­nwick and 28 from New­cas­tle upon Tyne. The sec­ond fish­ery up from the tide, it ex­tends to 3¼ miles of dou­ble and sin­gle bank with 34 named pools and spring, sum­mer and early au­tumn runs. Lightly fished in re­cent years it has an eight-year av­er­age to 2015 of 72.25 sal­mon and grilse (112 in 2010) and 21.37 sea-trout (129 in 2012). At the cen­tre of the es­tate is the Hall it­self, a com­mer­cially-man­aged pe­riod house with four main re­cep­tion rooms, in­clud­ing an Ed­war­dian ball­room, a snooker room, do­mes­tic and com­mer­cial kitchens, and 15 bed­rooms, all with bath­rooms. Out­side there are for­mal, walled and wood­land gar­dens, a tennis court, six cot­tages, es­tate build­ings and a farm steading with de­vel­op­ment po­ten­tial, ex­tend­ing to 323 acres.
