Sought-af­ter Dunkeld House of­fers two miles of prized fish­ing

In re­cent sea­sons the Tay’s open­ing cer­e­mony has taken place on the Dunkeld House beat and fish can be ex­pected from the first day of the sea­son – Jan­uary 15 – through to the sea­son’s close on Oc­to­ber 15. The beat is now for sale. Sit­u­ated on the mid­dle Tay im­me­di­ately above Dunkeld Bridge, 12 miles from Perth, the beat ex­tends to two miles of dou­ble bank with 14 named pools cur­rently fished by two boats, each host­ing two rods, and a fur­ther four bank rods. There is a five-year av­er­age of 182.2 salmon and grilse (240 in 2013; 268 in 2015) with May (37.6) be­ing the most pro­lific month. The Tay has an an­nual av­er­age catch ex­ceed­ing 6,000 fish. There is ve­hic­u­lar and pedes­trian ac­cess and the banks have been well main­tained. A site for a new fish­ing hut has been iden­ti­fied. Of­fers of over £875,000 are sought by CKD Gal­braith’s Perth of­fice (01738 451 111).

The beat av­er­ages more than 180 fish per year.
