Trout & Salmon (UK) - - Letters -

As a family we have always fished up and down the River Tay, especially the Kinnaird beat, until grandad found a timeshare week on Taymount. We were looking forward to fishing it for the first time, but unfortunately he had double-booked his holiday and was set to go on a cruise with grandma. He had even bought himself a new Daiwa rod and Redington reel for the occasion. He asked me to take his new set-up and catch his fish for him. Sadly, three weeks before the trip he passed away. My girlfriend Chloe, Uncle Allan, Virginia, cousins Henry and George, and I fished hard for five days, upset that grandad was not with us but determined to catch his fish. On the sixth day, Cornelius the head gillie took us to the lower beat where I caught the fish we had been waiting for on grandad’s rod and reel. Ben Gregory, via Facebook
