FARM WITH FISHING
Rowntree Farms in Lancashire’s Ribble valley is a family farm that provides an established shoot and fishing on the river. Situated two miles north of Gisburn and ten from Clitheroe, the property comprises two ring-fenced farms, with the Ribble forming the eastern boundary, that have been owned and farmed by the vendor’s family for more than 70 years. Mainly grassland extending to 477 acres in all, it is the home of the pedigree Ribble Aberdeen Angus herd. There are two farmhouses. The five-bedroom Windy Pike, the principal house, is mentioned in the Domesday Book. Moorhouse Farmhouse is a traditional five-bedroom renovated stone farmhouse. There are also two three-bedroom cottages and extensive farm buildings. The family shoot, with six drives, is focused on woodlands adjoining the river, and might be developed. The fishing rights extend to about a mile of single bank with four pools. There are salmon, sea-trout, brown trout and grayling.
