Alness AC, Alness River
The Alness, also known as the River Averon, is a spate-river and fishes best with a bit of water. Alness Angling Club has four beats. Visitors have access to beats 2, 3 and Estuary, which are predominantly double bank and fly-only, though some sections permit worming, subject to club regulations. Five-year average catches are 133 salmon/grilse and 52 sea-trout.
