Another great style to try in high water is the Templedog. Although used mainly in Scandinavian countries it would be foolish not to fish these flies in the UK. Their long and mobile wings move seductively in the slowest current, so they can be fished slowly or quickly, depending on the pool. You don't have to tie them in large sizes. When tied smaller and sparser on tubes or hooks, they are highly attractive – their teardrop profile representing a small fish. See sequence, p38.
