An­other great style to try in high wa­ter is the Tem­ple­dog. Al­though used mainly in Scan­di­na­vian coun­tries it would be fool­ish not to fish th­ese flies in the UK. Their long and mo­bile wings move se­duc­tively in the slow­est cur­rent, so they can be fished slowly or quickly, de­pend­ing on the pool. You don't have to tie them in large sizes. When tied smaller and sparser on tubes or hooks, they are highly at­trac­tive – their teardrop pro­file rep­re­sent­ing a small fish. See se­quence, p38.
