In Letters (Autumn), Mr Caspar Killick wanted to know the names of the Breton rivers described by Romilly Fedden in Golden Days. According to Pierre Phélipot, the book`s French translator, Fedden settled around the towns of Quimperlé and Le Faouët. He fished mainly the Ellé, Aër and possibly Inam rivers, all located in the South Finistère. He remained very discreet about the stretches. No doubt he had his reasons. You will find maps of these valleys in the book Rivières d`armorique, written and published by the Association for Fly Fishing in Brittany (ABPM). Don’t hesitate to contact me for more information.
