Florence Foster Jenkins

TV & Satellite Week - - Films - 2016, PG,110MIN

Wealthy 1940s New York socialite Florence Foster Jenkins has gone down in history as the worst opera singer ever, yet in director Stephen Frears’ tender, warm-hearted biopic she proves to be far more than a figure of fun as she pursues her musical dreams. Meryl Streep is a joy, reproducing the hideous racket Florence made with impressive fidelity, while Hugh Grant is typically droll as her loyal partner, St Clair Bayfield, the failed English actor who managed her amateur career.
