Judge Craig Revel Horwood gives us his thoughts on the new intake…
This year’s line-up is spectacular, I’m really looking forward to seeing them all,’ says Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood, 51, a judge on the show since the beginning in 2004.
The 14th series, which launches this week, will be extra memorable because it’ll be the last with head judge Len Goodman in charge. ‘I’ll miss him a lot, especially our battling,’ says Craig.
But for now it’s on with the show, as Craig gives us his early thoughts on this year’s celebrities…

Who? The Birds of a Feather actress is the oldest contestant and has a lot of experience on screen and stage.
She shared a role with Craig in the recent stage tour of the musical Annie.
Craig says: ‘She’s a very slow learner because I have seen her in rehearsals for Annie – it took her about three weeks to get the routine! But she is going to be desperately
funny.’ Ed Balls Age: 49
Who? The former Shadow Chancellor is the first male politician to take part in the full series (Vince Cable danced in the 2010 Christmas Special).
Craig says: ‘I can’t wait to see him in a tight, pink, sequinned Lycra outfit! He has the gift of the gab, though.’ will young Age: 37
Who? The singer shot to stardom in 2002 in ITV’S Pop Idol. He also sang live on last year’s series of Strictly. Craig says: ‘He will be great and really throw himself into it. He danced a little on the show, and I thought then how good he’d be as a contestant.’ laura whitmore Age: 31
Who? The Irish TV presenter started out on MTV and for the past five years has presented spin-off show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here… Now! Craig says: ‘She’s going to be OK. I don’t know much about her but she looks good so that’s half the battle.’ naga MUNCHETTY Age: 41 Who? The BBC Breakfast newsreader follows in the Strictly footsteps of her colleague Carol Kirkwood last year. Craig says: ‘She’s a great personality and will fight back and challenge me. But people who come from sitting on sofas generally don’t do very well.’
