What we’ll be missing…

TV Times - - Interview -

no one talks dough balls and warm buns better than Mel and Sue. Here are a few of our favourite quips

Sue: ‘you have got two hours to pop Mary’s cherry…’ (long pause) ‘in the oven, and bring it out again.’

Mel: ‘Paul and Mary are searching for the new Michelange-dough.’

Sue: ‘So how did the villagers of Denby Dale celebrate the repeal of the corn Laws? By making a ginormous pie… I’d have had a disco. Who makes a pie?’

Mel: ‘We’d like you to make Mary’s version of a Spanische Windtorte. Sounds like something I went to the doctor’s for when I was on holiday in Majorca.’

Sue: ‘right, bakers, time to reveal your cracks.’

Mel: ‘Bakers, you’ve got one minute before you know if you’ve gone down the frangi-pan.’

Sue: ‘Pigeon, jelly and tennis. It’s been game, set and

match, quite literally.’
