Hang on to your hats: Rebecca’s entrance is sheer heli for the villagers new member of the White family shows up in Emmerdale this week, but her chosen mode of transport doesn’t go down well with the locals – and especially not with big sister Chrissie, who caused the helicopter accident last year that killed Val and Ruby.
Rebecca flies in when the village fete is in full swing. The event is raising money for dementia research, and Chrissie hopes it will be good publicity for the adventure park. Ashley gives an interview about the fund-raiser to the local radio station, but his speech is interrupted by the sound of Rebecca’s chopper approaching.
‘Her entrance is rather dramatic,’ reveals Dales newcomer Emily Head, who played Carli in The
AInbetweeners and is the daughter of Merlin star Anthony Head. ‘It’s not the most well thought-through, given the village’s past experience, and everyone is stood there gazing at Rebecca as she steps off in a glamorous dress and red hat.’
The first thing Rebecca does is to walk up to Robert and slap him on Chrissie’s behalf. Chrissie’s pleased to have someone fighting her corner, but it turns out that Rebecca isn’t quite as loyal as she seems. Robert gets on better with her than she’s making out, and he tells Aaron that he plans to use her as a spy. He also urges Rebecca to get a DNA test done, to see if she’s Lawrence’s blood daughter – if she is, that could give him ammunition against Chrissie, who isn’t.
Rebecca later tells her former brother-in-law that she has sent off a DNA sample.
Meanwhile, she’s thrown to see how close he and Aaron are, and tries to seduce him by offering him half of everything at Home Farm if she gets it. Robert isn’t interested, as he has other plans up his sleeve. What could they be?
