Bake Off to Barlow
enjoy a taste of what’s next on Mel Giedroyc’s plate
Mel Giedroyc may have announced she’s quitting The Great British Bake Off, but here she is taking centrestage in the first snap from
Gary Barlow’s upcoming BBC1 talent search, Let It Shine.
the 48-year-old funny girl is to co-host next year’s take that-themed saturday-night extravaganza with fellow comedian Graham norton.
Gary, Martin Kemp and dannii Minogue will act as judges as they seek to create a band who’ll join the cast of a planned stage show featuring the music of Mr Barlow’s now grown-up boyband.
Mel says: ‘this brings so many of the things i love together – singing, dancing, Gary Barlow and Graham norton. what’s not to love? i can’t wait to meet the singers and see the performances.’ Glee star amber riley will also feature, offering expert advice to the wannabes.
the Beeb hopes Let It Shine will match the ratings of
The Voice, which has switched to itv.
