Michael Fassbender and Dominic West are Roman centurions in 117AD Britain, where life is nasty, brutish and short – and they’ve fallen foul of Olga Kurylenko. The film lets rip with an onslaught of slashing, hacking, gouging, stabbing and beheading, but the story’s not half bad and it looks quite astonishing.
