Self destructing after his attack on Ken, he knocks back narcotics and passes out

-

It hasn’t taken long for ‘golden boy’ Daniel Osbourne to lose his shine, has it? Not only is he riddled with guilt for attacking old Kenneth, he’s been dumped by Sinead and sent to Coventry by the entire Barlow clan – well, all apart from Ken, who has finally realised what a rubbish dad he has been to the lad. This week, as the struggling student continues on his downward spiral, he takes solace in drugs. Ken can see that his lad is a mess and, earlier, he offers to pay for him to see a therapist. But Daniel insists he doesn’t deserve any help. What he really wants is his little blonde knicker stitcher back in his life, so he’s left crushed when Sinead refuses to talk to him.

He gets his hands on drugs courtesy of a fella called Rich, an old friend of Robert’s, who turns up at the Bistro. As Rich offers Robert some gear, Robert declines, but Daniel clocks the exchange.

Later, he drinks himself stupid then asks Rich for some of his wares, making out they’re for the chef.

‘Daniel is depressed and not really feeling anything, and he just wants to feel something,’ says Rob Mallard, who plays him.

Robert smells a rat when Rich demands cash for Daniel’s drugs, so he heads round to the boy’s flat and bangs on the door. When Adam arrives, the pair find Daniel unconscious. Will he pull through?
