Coming hard on the heels of The

Hunger Games and Divergent, this post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure shows an impressive turn of speed in places. The set-up is intriguing, with a tribe of teenage boys being held captive in a grassy clearing by an impenetrable, ever-changing maze. And as Lord of the Fliestype cliques emerge, the tensions between amnesiac hero Dylan O’brien, obstinate bully Will Poulter and feisty heroine Kaya Scodelario, the lone girl, keep us engaged. The final instalment in author James Dashner’s best-selling trilogy, Maze Runner:

The Death Cure, was due out this year, but was pushed back to early 2018 due to a serious injury suffered by O’brien while filming. Dir: Wes Ball 2014, 12, 130min

Is there a way out for O’brien?
