1979 Wins the dou­bles ti­tle with part­ner Peter Flem­ing.

1980 reaches his first Wim­ble­don sin­gles fi­nal – an epic five set­ter against björn borg, still re­ferred to as one of the best grand slam fi­nals of all time.

1981 Beats Borg to win his first Wim­ble­don sin­gles ti­tle, but was nearly thrown out of the tour­na­ment for call­ing an um­pire ‘The pits of the world’.

1983 Wins his sec­ond Wim­ble­don sin­gles ti­tle in straight sets.

1984 Claims his third sin­gles ti­tle, hav­ing dropped only one set through­out the whole tour­na­ment.
