1979 Wins the doubles title with partner Peter Fleming.

1980 reaches his first Wimbledon singles final – an epic five setter against björn borg, still referred to as one of the best grand slam finals of all time.

1981 Beats Borg to win his first Wimbledon singles title, but was nearly thrown out of the tournament for calling an umpire ‘The pits of the world’.

1983 Wins his second Wimbledon singles title in straight sets.

1984 Claims his third singles title, having dropped only one set throughout the whole tournament.
