robson green would love to do another series of the crime drama
Grantchester star Robson Green has his fingers well and truly crossed that there will be a fourth series of the crime drama.
The hit ITV show, which is set in 1950s Cambridgeshire, sees Robson play overworked, down-to-earth
James Norton stars as his partner in sleuthing, charming clergyman Sidney Chambers. ‘I love doing Grantchester; I think it’s a great series,’ says Robson, 52, in an interview with TV Times News. ‘We’re in talks about it now. But James is working on Mcmafia [a gangster thriller] and I’m doing Age Before Beauty, both for BBC1 as well as other projects, so there are availability issues. But they do want to do more. The last series did really well and that’s testament to Daisy Coulam’s fantastic writing.’
For now, though, Robson’s back in 21st-century attire as he films much-hyped drama Age Before Beauty – from the pen of Poldark and Cutting It writer Debbie Horsfield – in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The saga, set in a beauty salon, also stars
Sue Johnston, Lisa Riley, and
Mr Selfridge’s Polly Walker.
