When Lachlan kidnaps Tim, Chrissie discovers the truth about her uncle and Lawrence ends up in hospital…
Chrissie feels utterly betrayed and humiliated by Lawrence’s
actions
During his three years in the Dales, Lawrence White has been shot, beaten up, poisoned by carbon monoxide fumes and had several heart attacks – and yet he’s cheated death every time. This week, however, his life hangs in the balance yet again, when some shock revelations result in an emergency dash to the hospital.
Realising that things are getting out of hand with the whole Tim business, Lawrence starts the week by resolving to tell Chrissie that ‘Simon’, the man she fancies, is in fact her biological uncle.
‘Chrissie is smitten with Simon,’ says Louise Marwood, who plays her. ‘She has no idea that he might have another agenda or, in fact, be somebody else. Lawrence has been acting strangely, but that isn’t exactly anthing new!’
But before Lawrence has a chance to come clean, Lachlan decides to take matters into his own hands, which is never a good thing. He and his pal, Gerry, pounce on Tim as he is heading off to see Chrissie, and bundle him into their car boot. The pair speed off and, after dumping a bound and gagged Tim in an outbuilding on the estate, Lachlan returns home and tells Lawrence that he doesn’t have to worry about Tim any more. Lawrence should know that this is an ominous snippet of information, but he’s too busy preparing for his and Ronnie’s move to St Ives to worry about anything else.
It looks like Lawrence and his partner may never make it out of the village, let alone escape to Cornwall. When Gerry and Lachlan go to check on Tim, they take off his gag and he screams for help so loudly that Lawrence and Chrissie hear him and investigate.
Chrissie finds Tim, and demands to know what’s going on. She’s horrified when he reveals he is her uncle – and staggered when Lawrence doesn’t try to deny
it. ‘Chrissie feels utterly betrayed and humiliated by Lawrence,’ adds Louise. ‘It’s one big ugly mess.’
Shocked by Lawrence’s behaviour, Ronnie makes a decision, leaving Lawrence heartbroken. He is desperate to make amends, but another health scare sees him rushed to hospital. Lachlan and Rebecca are by his side, but there’s no sign of Chrissie
