Ghost
Often mocked – it’s that potter’s wheel sequence – Ghost nevertheless won two Oscars and a lot of hearts when it came out in 1990. No mean feat for what looks at first glance like a weepie. But it’s more than that, it’s also a thriller about ghost Patrick Swayze trying to contact lover Demi Moore to tell her that the same men who killed him might be after her. But how? Cue a big lump of clay.
