Tajmo CONCOrd 6/10 cross-generational blues summit, with guest slots from Bonnie raitt, Joe Walsh and sheila e There’s only a nineyear age gap between these two bluesmen, but it seems much bigger – Taj Mahal is the septuagenarian legend with the lived-in voice, while Kevin Moore still comes across as the limber, youthful soulman who just happens to have blues chops. Joe Walsh appears on a version of The Who’s “Squeeze Box”, while Lizz Wright and Bonnie Raitt also guest, but the standout tracks reject slick studio polish. Piano Red’s “She Knows How To Rock Me” gets a bottleneck guitar treatment, while the ancient Sleepy John Estes classic “Diving Duck Blues” is turned into an elegant ragtime swing duet for two acoustic guitars.
