UNCUT - - New Albums - Third album from St Louis doomrock quartet

Taking their album title from the hymn that is said to have been played as the Titanic went down, Foxing are not the first band to make a record for the end of the world. Nor will they be the last, despite the efforts of Islamic terrorism, climate change, trade wars and more. Meanwhile, we can enjoy Foxing’s prophecies of impending doom, particularly when they’re clothed in Animal Collective harmonies (“Slapstick” and the title track), U2 bombast (“Bastardizer”) and even avant-garde R&B (“Gameshark”). The end is not nigh. But don’t let that spoil the fun.
