Open let­ter to Boris John­son MP

FIRST of all I must eat my words re let­ter to you dated July 3, 2016. Shortly after the ref­er­en­dum of June 23 this year I was so in­censed that you had pressed for Brexit that I also wrote to the Uxbridge Gazette com­plain­ing bit­terly about your stance re leav­ing the Euro­pean Union. Now you have been el­e­vated to the Tory Cabi­net as Sec­re­tary of State for For­eign & Com­mon­wealth Af­fairs, I must con­grat­u­late you on your new post.

My let­ter to­day is about Uxbridge town cen­tre’s post of­fice. I won­der if you have ever had to use it or even know where it is in Uxbridge.

It is found, with dif­fi­culty, up­stairs at the back of Smiths sta­tion­ers re­tail shop and on ar­rival, there will be a queue a mile long of peo­ple wait­ing to be served.

On Tues­day Oc­to­ber 11, I ar­rived at ap­prox 3.25pm and there were about seven peo­ple ahead of me. There was one mem­ber of staff to serve us. I waited for 35 min­utes and was served at 4pm. It’s not good enough. I don’t know who de­cided the lo­ca­tion and size of Uxbridge Town Cen­tre’s post of­fice.

Cer­tainly their judge­ment of the ser­vice it could pro­vide was out of touch with re­al­ity.
