Ros­siter tre­ble sets club on road to win

JOE Ros­siter started 2017 with a bang as West Dray­ton Ex­plor­ers un­der-10 Reds stung Lan­g­ley Hornets in a goalfest on Sun­day.

Ros­siter laid claim to his first match-ball of the year in an 8-4 win, the other goals com­ing cour­tesy from man-of-the-match Euan Hlubanyana, Ethan Cupido, Char­lie Pe­nil, Harry Todd and Tris­tan Vil­lacru­sis.

Two other Ex­plor­ers, Oliver Lon­g­ley and Ka­jus Cepas, hit hat­tricks in los­ing causes.

The for­mer notched a tre­ble for the U9 Reds against S4K Wolves and though man-of-the-match Thomas Mickale added an­other, it wasn’t enough to pre­vent a 5-4 de­feat.

Cepas’ hat-trick came as the U7s lost 9-5 to Wind­sor. Amon­dio and Phillip Pon­ski were Ex­plor­ers’ other young­sters on tar­get while Storm Wolfe was named their man of the match.

There was bet­ter news for the U12s as they won a tight en­counter with Burn­ham 2-1, man-of-the-match Adam Devlin scor­ing both goals.

There was a bat­tle for brag­ging rights be­tween the U10 Pur­ples and U10 Blues as they met in their first league clash. The Pur­ples won the day with the game’s only goal from Rokas Darzinkas.

Mean­while, the U11 and U16s started the year with draws. The lat­ter shared four goals with Wid­mer End, Ayub Raabi and Char­lie Rogers the Ex­plorer scor­ers and God­win Osifo was on tar­get for the U11s as they drew 1-1 with Ick­en­ham Youth. Else­where, the U8 Reds suf­fered a 6-1 de­feat to Burn­ham.
