Protesters clash as anti-fascist groups campaign against EDL
METROPOLITAN Police officers arrested six people as far right groups and anti-fascist groups protested in central London.
United Against Fascism (UAF) and United Against Extremism (UAE) took to the streets on Saturday as The English Defence League (EDL) demonstrated from Victoria Embankment to Charing Cross station.
Police confirmed they arrested one person from UAE for breach of the peace and another for a public order offence while the group marched from St Paul’s Cathedral to London’s Borough Market.
Another person was also arrested for a public order offence within the footprint of the demonstration.
Three people from the UAF were arrested for breach of conditions as they protested at Victoria Embankment.
