ISLE OF DOGS (PG)

Uxbridge Gazette - - Film Reviews -

ISLE Of Dogs is a self-consciously offbeat buddy comedy on two and four legs, which marks writer-director Wes Anderson’s return to stop-motion animation after his 2009 adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox.

The vocal cast chews on verbal bones with relish, particularly Jeff Goldblum as a dog with a penchant for gossip. The film is arch, knowing and impeccably conceived but emotionally chilly.

■ AVAILABLE from July 23 on download and streaming services, available from August 6 on DVD £19.99/Blu-ray £24.99.

Chief (voiced by Bryan Cranston)
