A NOBLE CAUSE

COMEDIAN Ross Noble, above, is touring the country with his new stand-up show El Hablador following his Olivier-nominated performance in the stage show of Young Frankenstein.

He says of his stand-up: “When I started people said I was ‘surreal’ and that’s a bit of a lazy description because it sort of implies that anyone could do it. Now I think I take the building blocks of the real world and then stretch and manipulate them. It’s more like ‘magic realism’ than surrealism – that’s the way I see it. And that’s the most pretentious thing I’ve ever said!” ■ Go to rossnoble.com for tour dates.

BALLET MASTERS

THE Bolshoi Ballet is showcasing some of ballet’s greatest classical works as part of its new cinema season of live broadcasts direct from Moscow.

The season opens on November 11 with one of the world’s oldest surviving ballets La Sylphide.
