Owners’ Club announces two superb venues for 2017 Concours events
THE 2017 ASTON MARTIN Owners Club season is set to be one of the most exciting in the Club’s history, with a calendar packed full of prestigious and innovative events. And it all kicks off with what promises to be one of the Club’s biggest ever Concours, at Aston Martin’s new St Athan manufacturing facility in Wales on Sunday, April 9.
The Concours will feature cars from every model era of Aston Martin production, and they’ll be displayed in one of the huge St Athan hangars, which will ultimately be converted into the production line for the new Aston Martin DBX.
The event will also include a very special Aston Martin Heritage Trust display dedicated to the original DBS, which is 50 years old in 2017, with the line-up expected to include some famous and rare cars.
The Autumn Concours will be at the world-famous Eden Project in Cornwall on Sunday, September 17. The Concours will take place against the backdrop of the Project’s iconic Biomes, which nestle in a huge crater and house the largest rainforest in ‘captivity’ and many other attractions, including striking contemporary gardens.
Entry into the Spring and Autumn Concours is exclusive to Aston Martin Owners Club members. Membership is from £99 a year (plus a £30 joining fee) and the benefits include monthly and quarterly publications, exclusive international dinners and driving tours, access to advice and car sales forums, the official AMOC Racing series, and an approved insurance scheme. Membership is open to enthusiasts as well as owners.
Other exclusive AMOC member activities for the year ahead include Club displays and hospitality at national events including the Silverstone Classic, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Spa Classic. The Club also offers exclusive camping packages at Le Mans and the opportunity to experience an Aston Martin factory tour. AMOC RACING is back for 2017 with an impressive series of meetings at worldclass circuits including Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Oulton Park. Whether an experienced racing driver or new to motorsport, racing a modern or classic car, there is a grid to suit all, with friendly but competitive racing for trophies including the Intermarque Championship, Aston Martin GT Challenge and Innes Ireland Cup. Some rounds will be shared with other championships – for full details and to book your space on any of the grids, visit www.amocracing.org or call 01403 823138.
Complementing the AMOC Racing calendar is a series of sprints and trackdays at venues around the UK, including Curborough and Blyton Park.
