David Moyes’ certain failure and inevitable sacking, would I be right in thinking the only people not to have managed West Ham in the UK are legendary ventriloquist Ray Alan and his dapper sidekick, Lord Charles? If this is the case, then the Hammers’ board should act swiftly with their appointment. Despite him being dead for several years I think an Alan/Charles partnership would be a dynamic addition to Premiership management, possibly in the Clough/Taylor mould. The only downside I can foresee would be Lord Charles’s biting sarcasm and obtuse attitude towards the 4th official, perhaps referring to him as a ‘silly arse’, that would invariably lead to him being regularly sent to the stands.
