‘Hit and run’ on dad’s car

-

A FATHER and his young son were involved in an alleged hit and run after their car was struck from behind by a van.

Dan McShane was driving his blue Vauxhall Astra, which also had his six-year-old son inside, on Oystermouth Road in Swansea when the crash happened.

Army worker Dan said: “I’d been at a dads’ club with some friends and their kids in Port Tennant and was heading home to Sketty.

“Two people got out after it happened, but I was just concerned about my son and when they saw me tending to him they got back in and drove off.”

Dan added: “This guy knew there was a child in my car and he still left the scene.

“Luckily only I have injuries and my son was absolutely fine but the next time another family may not be so lucky”.

The crash happened at the junction of West Way on Friday, March 17, at around 11.50pm.

South Wales Police are appealing for any witnesses or people with information to contact them by calling 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
