RHYS Webb had to give the Ospreys’ post-match celebrations a miss yesterday — so he could head off to be the best man at his mate’s wedding. The Wales scrum-half had pictures taken suited and booted with groom Chris Harries before journeying to the Liberty to skipper the Welsh region in their 24-10 Guinness Pro12 win over Ulster .

He did a television interview straight after the game, got changed, and immediately left for the nuptials.

He said: “I’ve got to head off to my mate’s wedding.

“I’m the best man and so have to get there fairly quickly.”

Team-mate Tom Habberfield said: “Rhys’ best friend is getting married.

“There’s a lot of things going on in his head, but, fair play to him, he gave a great performance. “He’ll celebrate tonight. “As best man he’ll get his speech done. He had the photos taken this morning. He then came to play the game and shot off straight after.

“He’s a true professional to get the job done on the pitch and not let it affect him.”
