Road closed af­ter man, 42, dies in crash

A 42-YEAR-OLD man has died in an early morn­ing crash.

He was the driver of a sil­ver coloured Re­nault Clio which left the road near Re­sol­ven, at around 1.55am yes­ter­day.

South Wales Po­lice are now ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses to the ac­ci­dent, on the A465 north­bound at the Re­sol­ven round­about.

Of­fi­cers say the man was de­clared dead at the scene and that a 57-year-old pas­sen­ger was taken to hos­pi­tal with non-life-threat­en­ing in­juries.

A po­lice fam­ily li­ai­son of­fi­cer has been ap­pointed and is sup­port­ing the next of kin.

The road was closed for around five hours while po­lice car­ried out ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions and re­cov­ered the ve­hi­cle.

A spokes­woman for South Wales Po­lice said: “We would like to thank the peo­ple af­fected by the clo­sure for their pa­tience and un­der­stand­ing.”

Po­lice would like to speak to any wit­nesses to the col­li­sion, or any­one who wit­nessed the man­ner of driv­ing of a sil­ver Re­nault Clio prior to the col­li­sion.
