Road closed after man, 42, dies in crash
A 42-YEAR-OLD man has died in an early morning crash.
He was the driver of a silver coloured Renault Clio which left the road near Resolven, at around 1.55am yesterday.
South Wales Police are now appealing for witnesses to the accident, on the A465 northbound at the Resolven roundabout.
Officers say the man was declared dead at the scene and that a 57-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A police family liaison officer has been appointed and is supporting the next of kin.
The road was closed for around five hours while police carried out initial investigations and recovered the vehicle.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “We would like to thank the people affected by the closure for their patience and understanding.”
Police would like to speak to any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of a silver Renault Clio prior to the collision.
