BANGOR took another step towards the North Wales League title when they overcame Gresford by 69 runs yesterday.
Batting first after winning the toss Bangor scored 180 for eight in their 50 overs with David Winter top scoring with a knock of 43. Six other batsmen reached double figures.
Daniel Williams captured five wickets for just 39 runs.
Gresford never look like getting their target and were dismissed for a meagre 111 with only Chris Elwood making a worthwhile contribution hitting 31 including four fours and a six.
Menai Bridge, the nearest pursuers of Bangor also won yesterday beating reigning champions Llandudno by 31 runs. The Bridge notched up 231 for 6 in their 50 overs with Robbie Jones scoring 102 and Arwel Thomas 57.
The Seasiders who have dominated North Wales cricket for the past decade were all out for 200 with Dan Evans top scoring with 44. Dion Holden produced his best-ever bowling figures 6-40.
