BAN­GOR took an­other step to­wards the North Wales League ti­tle when they over­came Gres­ford by 69 runs yes­ter­day.

Bat­ting first af­ter win­ning the toss Ban­gor scored 180 for eight in their 50 overs with David Win­ter top scor­ing with a knock of 43. Six other bats­men reached dou­ble fig­ures.

Daniel Wil­liams cap­tured five wick­ets for just 39 runs.

Gres­ford never look like get­ting their tar­get and were dis­missed for a mea­gre 111 with only Chris El­wood mak­ing a worth­while con­tri­bu­tion hit­ting 31 in­clud­ing four fours and a six.

Me­nai Bridge, the near­est pur­suers of Ban­gor also won yes­ter­day beat­ing reign­ing cham­pi­ons Llandudno by 31 runs. The Bridge notched up 231 for 6 in their 50 overs with Rob­bie Jones scor­ing 102 and Ar­wel Thomas 57.

The Seasiders who have dom­i­nated North Wales cricket for the past decade were all out for 200 with Dan Evans top scor­ing with 44. Dion Holden pro­duced his best-ever bowl­ing fig­ures 6-40.
