STRICTLY CELEBRITIES TAKE THEIR PARTNERS
SUMMER might be over, but we could not be happier to see Strictly Come Dancing return to our screens. This is the 15th series for the BBC celebrity dance show contest, hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Last night each of the pairings of dancers and stars were announced – complete with plenty of sequins and glitter galore.
The episode was particularly special as the cast paid homage to the late Bruce Forsyth, who presented the television programme for nine years.
If you missed the razzle dazzle (where have you been?) here is the full list for 2017: MALE CELEBRITIES
Aston Merrygold and Janette Manrara The back flipping JLS singer will be put through his paces with American professional dancer and choreographer Janette.
Brian Conley and Amy Dowden He’s not a puppet – but will he be wooden with his dance moves? With some Welsh magic from newbie dancer Amy Dowden, surely not?
Davood Ghadami and Nadiya Bychkova We are excited to see EastEnders actor Davood Chadami smiling for once! And we imagine he is over the moon to be partnered with new dancer Nadiya Bychkova.
Joe McFadden and Katya Jones Russian dancer and choreographer Katya Jones will be setting hearts racing alongside Holby City actor Joe McFadden.
Jonnie Peacock and Oti Mabuse He won gold at both the 2012 and 2016 Summer Paralympics, but could he also be a winner on Strictly alongside last year’s runner-up, Oti Mabuse?
Reverend Richard Coles and Dianne Buswell Church of England priest Reverend Richard Coles has all of his prayers answered with Australian Dianne Buswell, another new addition to the dancer line-up.
Simon Rimmer and Karen Clifton The Sunday Brunch presenter has been served up a treat with Karen Clifton who deserves a win after her dancing partner Will Young was forced to withdraw last year. FEMALE CELEBRITIES
Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez Stage actress Alexandra Burke won The X Factor in 2008, but will she be crowned the queen of the dance floor alongside Spanish partner Gorka Marquez?
Charlotte Hawkins and Brendan Cole Bad boy Brendan will be paired up with Good Morning Britain newsreader Charlotte Mary Hawkins. We think that if she can handle Piers, then the heated dancer should be a breeze...
Chizzy Akudolu and Pasha Kovalev The second Holby City star to fea- ture is Chizzy Akudolu, who is paired up with Russian professional Latin and ballroom dancer Pasha Kovalev, who won the 2012 series with Caroline Flack.
Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice Paul Daniels’ widow Debbie is set to make magic with Italian dancer and choreographer Giovanni Pernice, who has never held up the infamous glitter ball.
Gemma Atkinson and Alijaž Škorjanec Alijaž famously won his first ever series in 2013 with ex-glamour model Abby Clancy, but he’s yet to win another one. Could he do it with former glamour model Gemma Atkinson?
Mollie King and AJ Pritchard Saturday’s pop star Mollie King already has the moves, and has been paired with young British dancer AJ Pritchard, who made it to the semi-finals on Britain’s Got Talent in 2013.
Ruth Langsford and Anton Du Beke Arguably one of Strictly’s favourite dancers Anton Du Beke often ends up with the – shall we say – rhythmically challenged. But we think he has struck gold with This Morning and Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford.
Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton Despite facing a backlash from some of the LGBT+ community for dancing with a man, Susan has made it clear that she is over the moon to be dancing with English dancer and husband of Karen Clifton, Kevin.
Tess Daly with Brian Conley and Amy Dowden being paired up in Strictly Come Dancing
