CARDIFF Met University moved level on points with Connah’s Quay, just a point adrift of leaders Llandudno, following a 2-0 victory over Aberystwyth Town at Park Avenue yesterday.
The students took advantage of the fact the Seasiders played for more than 80 minutes a man short after the dismissal of Joe Culshaw for a dangerous tackle.
Joel Edwards put the students in front on 32 minutes and they wrapped up the three points with an own goal from John McKenna in the second half.
Barry Town United secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 home victory over Newtown, Kayne Mclaggon netting both with one in each half.
Bangor City edged out pointless Carmarthen Town 1-0 at Farrar Road, Laurence Wilson getting the all-important goal in the second half.
Champions The New Saints cruised to a 4-0 victory over Cefn Druids, with Jamie Mullan opening the scoring after six minutes.
But it took the home side until the 59th-minute to increase their lead through Greg Draper, before Chris Seargeant added a third from the penalty spot and Simon Spender fired home a fourth three minutes from time.
Llandudno surrendered their 100% record after they were held 2-2 at home by Prestatyn Town.
Danny Hughes gave Llandudno a 12th-minute lead before Jack Kenny equalised just two minutes later. A Ben Maher header restored the lead, but Lee Thomas made it all square with 20 minutes remaining.
