LEE Trundle’s late penalty rescued a point for Llanelli Town as they drew 3-3 with Goytre United at Stebonheath Park in a top-of-the-table clash in Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League Division One, writes Jay Bayford.
Llanelli had scored through Joe Clarke and a Ronan Templeton own goal but a Tom Walters brace and Dale Griffiths penalty looked set to guide Goytre United to victory before Trundle fired in his late spot-kick in the fifth minute of injury time.
And there was another sixgoal thriller at Old Road as Penybont produced a remarkable comeback to draw 3-3 with Briton Ferry.
Last year’s Division Two runners-up were looking set for all three points after a David Brown double and Steven Davey strike put them in control. But Brad Flay, Cullen Kinsella and Kieran Howard salvaged a point for Penybont.
Goytre sit one point behind the top two after beating Haverfordwest County 3-2. County’s Stef Williams opened and closed the scoring but goals from Oliver Dalton, Luke Prosser and Gary Colbourne gave Goytre the win.
