LAST sea­son’s semi-fi­nal­ists Caernar­fon Town are on the march again in the JD Welsh Cup af­ter beat­ing Lex Glyn­dwr 5-1 to reach the sec­ond round proper of this sea­son’s com­pe­ti­tion.

Pro­lific striker Jamie Breese fired an­other two goals with Nathan Craig, Chris Wil­liams and Jay Gibbs also on the score­sheet for the Huws Gray Al­liance lead­ers.

Matt Har­ri­son had ear­lier given the visi­tors a sur­prise lead.

Join­ing them in the next round are Ber­riew who won 4-0 at Aber­mule with Richard Davies’ hat-trick in­spir­ing the vic­tory.

Mean­while two goals from Steve Lewis and an­other from Jamie McDaid earned Holy­well Town a 3-0 vic­tory over Cor­wen while Lee McBurnie’s ef­fort helped Brick­field Rangers see off reign­ing FAW Tro­phy hold­ers Chirk AAA 1-0.

Goals from Richie Foulkes, Alan Bull and Kyle Smyth saw Flint Town United get past Llan­fair United 3-0 while a brace from Dean Sage and a Joe Mor­gan ef­fort helped Llan­dudno Junc­tion to a 3-1 vic­tory at Gaer­wen.

Else­where Guils­field are also in the hat for round two af­ter a 4-0 win over Mold Alex. Adam Jenk­ins was at the dou­ble.

Den­bigh Town edged a thriller Holy­head Hot­spur 4-3 af­ter ex­tra-time against Holy­head Hot­spur, while Pen­ley are through af­ter win­ning a penalty shootout 5-3 at Mochdre Sports af­ter the sides were dead­locked at 1-1 af­ter ex­tra-time.
