Armed police recover guns in Swansea

-

TWO men were arrested after armed police were sent to an incident in a Swansea street yesterday.

Officers reportedly recovered two handguns after being called to a domestic incident in Peniel Green Road in Llansamlet.

“Police were called at 11.17am,” a South Wales Police spokesman said.

“Two men, aged 34 and 35 years old, have been arrested and are in police custody. Armed officers were deployed to ensure the safety of the public and officers in the area.”

It’s understood one man was detained in the house while another was held nearby.

One resident living nearby, who didn’t want to be named, said: “It was quite a scene. I saw armed officers coming and going, and then other officers brought out what I heard were guns.

“This is a busy road and loads of people were driving past while it was happening. I saw the police taking a 4x4 away on a lorry. It’s crazy to think of guns being around here.”
