When Stoke-on-trent ceramics specialist 1882 Ltd approached Russell Pinch, co-founder of studio Pinch, to work on a collaboration, the initial proposal was to work on a surface pattern design. However, the British designer convinced them to extend the collaboration to shape and form. ‘At Pinch, we focus on furniture and lighting, so this has been a great opportunity for us to work on a different scale,’ he says. The collaboration has resulted in a sculptural six-piece collection that includes a pitcher, a mug, a jug and three bowls.
