Euro dreams for city singer

FRESH on the heels of her suc­cess at the Wise Women Awards, gospel singer San­dra Godley has been nom­i­nated for four awards at an in­ter­na­tional mu­sic cer­e­mony.

The 50-year-old from Coven­try has been put for­ward for a quar­tet of gongs at the Gospel Mu­sic Awards Italy and could come home sport­ing awards for best in­ter­na­tional song, best in­ter­na­tional feamle vo­cal­ist, best in­ter­na­tional al­bum and best in­ter­na­tional mu­sic video.

San­dra will find out on July 19 in Rome whether or not she has bagged the tro­phies to add to the pres­ti­gious Woman in Mu­sic ac­co­lade at the Wise Women Awards, as well as her re­cent Gospel En­ter­tain­ment Award and nom­i­na­tion at the MOBOs.

San­dra, who lives on the Ban­ner­brook es­tate, said: “I’m ab­so­lutely de­lighted to have re­ceived so many nom­i­na­tions – I feel very proud to rep­re­sent my coun­try and my city.”
