Date is set for sum­mer fete

THE vil­lage of Berk­swell will hold its an­nual sum­mer fete on Satur­day June 14, from 12-4pm.

Ac­tiv­i­ties will ex­tend from the vil­lage green at one end of the vil­lage to St John the Bap­tist Church at the other.

They in­clude a beer tent and live mu­sic, with clas­sic car and mo­tor­cy­cle ex­hibits and a chil­dren’s may­pole dance.

There will also be as­sorted stalls and re­fresh­ments on sale.

Young vis­i­tors can en­joy a free bouncy cas­tle, face paint­ing, games and a bear hunt.

Or­gan­is­ers will also run tours of the Church Tower, of­fer­ing people a bird’s eye view of the vil­lage and the chance to see the bells in the an­cient church tower.
