Man hurt in brawl near club in se­ri­ous con­di­tion

A MAN who was hit over the head with an ob­ject in a mass brawl in the early hours of Sun­day morn­ing is in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion in hospi­tal.

The 25-year-old man suf­fered a frac­tured skull af­ter a huge fight out­side So Club Room in Hert­ford Place.

Yes­ter­day po­lice said he was hit over the head with an ob­ject.

This morn­ing of­fi­cers told the Tele­graph that the man re­mains in a se­ri­ous but sta­ble con­di­tion in hospi­tal.

So far no-one has been ar­rested in con­nec­tion with the at­tack - which the po­lice are con­tin­u­ing to in­ves­ti­gate.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred at around 6.15am on Sun­day morn­ing.

As many as 20 peo­ple were be­lieved to be in­volved in the fight­ing out­side the city cen­tre and the vic­tim was found slumped on the floor.

Det Sgt Michelle Kiedron has urged any­one who saw the brawl or wit­nessed any­one run­ning from the scene to get in touch.

She said: “We’re ex­am­in­ing CCTV in the lo­ca­tion in a hope that will help ex­plain what hap­pened and who was in­volved.

“If any­one has any in­for­ma­tion about what hap­pened, maybe they wit­nessed the build-up to the fight, I’d urge them to con­tact me.

“We know there were also peo­ple in the area mak­ing an early start to their day and they may also have seen some­thing im­por­tant.”
